Cerec CAD/CAM

Dental Imaging Software

Dental imaging software allows us to simulate cosmetic and other procedures so you can see the effect on your smile before we start! We take digital pictures of your teeth and then use a sophisticated computer simulation program to create the projected "after" images.

Soft Tissue Laser

Modern soft tissue lasers are used to cosmetically contour gums, lengthen crowns to provide ample structure for restoration, and treat pockets of infection during gum treatment.

Lasers help sterilize the treatment site, provide the maximum amount of control, minimize bleeding, and are virtually painless during the procedure and post-operatively.

Soft Tissue Laser

Hard Tissue Laser

The DeLight™ Erbium YAG dental laser is a pulsed light that provides pinpoint accuracy to gently remove decay without the need for anesthesia or the drill in most cases.

The ErYAG dental laser helps sterilize as it works and is less traumatic to the tooth than the drill. Bond strengths of white fillings to the tooth are also improved by 50% over conventional techniques.

Hard Tissue Laser

TMJ Doppler

Doppler auscultation is a valuable adjunct to clinical and radiographic assessment of TMJ disorders in our office. Listening carefully to the joint sounds provided by the DOPPLER yields highly reliable information about the status of the condyle-disc assembly (jaw joint).

TMJ Doppler

Advanced Medications

As part of the comprehensive treatment we offer our patients, we have chosen an ultrasonic instrument, the Pro-Select 3®, that is based on piezoelectric techology. This instrument is the latest in ultrasonic techology .This instrument was chosen because of it's effectiveness in removing plaque, tarter and stains while at the same time being more comfortable to the patient than traditional older techology ultrasonic scaling systems. The Pro-Select 3® system also is designed to gently administer medicaments under the gums when needed. Both our hygienists have the Pro-Select 3® system in their respective operatories, as part of their armamentarium in helping our patients with their periodontal care.

Precision Zeiss Optics

Dr. Garant has been using magnification for all operative procedures for approx 15 years. According to Dr. Garant, "Your hands are only as good as your eyes." Dr. Garant uses Zeiss magnification in all procedures to perform at a level of precision otherwise not possible.

Intraoral Camera

Our intraoral camera uses a tiny fiber-optic wand to easily take vivid photographs of the inside of your mouth. This allows us to let you see what we see.

Ceramic Reconstruction step by step

The defective filling and decay is removed. A reflective powder layer prepares the tooth for imaging.

  • An optical 3D image is acquired with a small camera, directly in your mouth.
  • The restoration is created on the screen using the image data.
  • Diamond coated instruments mill a ceramic block reproduce the design.
  • This is accomplished during a single appointment using Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacture (CAD/CAM).
  • After polishing, the new restoration fits precisely.
  • A unique light hardens the bonding material, uniting porcelain and tooth.
  • Polishing or glazing ensures a pleasantly smooth and natural feel.
  • The colour and appearance make the special ceramic material bland with your tooth.
  • Perfectly bonded porcelain ensures an extremely long life for your teeth.
  • Maximum strength, great looks!

Fillings (inlays/onlays)

After decay and old filling material is removed...
The individually manufactured ceramic will be fitted exactly.
Depending on severity, the whole procedure will last between one and two hours.

Crowns

For more heavily compromised teeth, a traditional treatment has been a crown restoration, which can take several separate appointments.
Using the CEREC method, crown restoration is completed in a single appointment. No impressions, no temporary crowns - no need for a second injection.
A treatment time of one to two hours is normal.

Veneers

Malpositioned and discoloured teeth can be restored with porcelain veneers.

Your tooth is adjusted and a thin layer of porcelain is bonded securely to your tooth.
Perfect looks, perfect fit make a wonderful, natural smile - all in a single appointment.

Why CEREC?

  • Protects and preserves your own tooth's structural integrity
  • Ceramics are bio-compatible
  • Only one appointment
  • Prefect looks
  • Perfect comfort
  • Perfect quality
  • Long lasting and durable
  • Unquestionably the most cost effective restoration we have available today
